Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) – Specialty Scheduler to join the specialty department team. You will perform a variety of administrative and scheduling duties to support patient care and ensure a positive patient experience, coordinating with physicians and staff across locations.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication, accurate registration, and effective coordination of referrals, authorizations, and scheduling for procedures and tests.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree, preferred.
• Previous PSR experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of medical office and terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.
• Previous experience with standard office technology in a Windows-based environment preferred.
• Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and departmental/ancillary systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, patients and families in a friendly, professional manner.
• Maintain efficient patient flow during registration and provide excellent customer service.
• Answer telephone, direct calls, take messages and relay appropriately.
• Communicate with coworkers, physicians and patients regarding registration information.
• Inform patients of delays and assist with comfort during delays.
• Post self-pay charges, collect payments and provide receipts.
