Job summary

Jimbo's in Escondido, CA is seeking a customer service associate for the Specialty Department. You will assist customers, handle special orders and returns, keep the department clean, neat and well-merchandised, and help with inventory and pricing of cheese and related items.

Applicants should have a friendly personality, strong communication skills, and knowledge of natural foods products. A Food Handler’s Certificate should be obtained within 10 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Knowledge of natural foods products preferred (cheese/beer/wine).
• Strong communication skills in customer service.
• Ability to read product labels and UPC codes.
• Willingness to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days.

Responsibilities

• Proactively assist customers within standards.
• Assist with special requests, returns and special orders.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment per Health Department regulations.
• Manage Specialty Department pricing, stocking, facing, rotation, and merchandising.
• Record returns, damages, spoilage, and breakage to reduce loss.
• Cut, wrap, price and merchandise cheese imported and domestic.
• Learn products, promotions, wine/cheese/beer pairings to help customers.
