Responsibilities

  • Lead and support learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole-class sessions where appropriate.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to support effective teaching and learning.
  • Provide targeted support to pupils with additional educational needs.
  • Adapt activities and resources to accommodate different abilities and learning styles.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development.
  • Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of classroom activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support the organisation and day-to-day running of the specialist classroom.
  • Help new pupils transition into the classroom as the provision expands.
  • Provide guidance and support to other Teaching Assistants where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
