Job summary

Co-op Academy Delius in Bradford seeks a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support children with SEN. The role works with class teachers to deliver learning in line with the national curriculum and academy policies, including small group interventions.

You will promote inclusive practices, monitor progress, and provide a positive, orderly learning environment. A strong communicator with good IT skills and discretion is essential; term-time hours are 35 per week, permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to build good relationships with young people and adults.
• Ability to deal with students and staff so they are treated consistently and fairly.
• Ability to convey authority and make quick decisions while maintaining integrity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for pupils and monitor progress.
• Provide cover for teacher absence when required.
• Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Assist in managing the pupils and the classroom for an orderly learning environment.
• Run small group interventions to meet SEND needs and close gaps.
• Promote inclusive learning and equal access to education for all pupils.
