Helm Academy is seeking a passionate SEN HLTA to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This opportunity involves working closely with classroom teachers to deliver tailored lessons, assist in creating Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and monitor student progress. Ideal candidates will have at least three years of experience in SEN settings and must possess a valid DBS registration. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student learning and well‑being.
Contribute to the overall development of the school’s inclusive practices. Lead small group activities and support learning plans under the direction of the teacher.
Entry Requirements
At least 3 years of experienceworking in SEN settings, including experience in a minimum of two schools supporting students with MLD or SLD.
Confidence and comfort in working with students with SLD, even if your prior experience has focused on MLD.
Willingness to assist with some personal care tasks.
A valid DBS registered on the Update Service is mandatory.
