Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) in Virginia Beach is seeking a dedicated Special Orders Clerk to provide knowledgeable, courteous, and professional service to internal and external customers via phone, email, and company systems.

The role reports to the Supervisor of Value-Added Services and involves processing orders, tracking delivery, coordinating with stores, vendors, and distribution teams, and ensuring compliance with PII policies.

Qualifications

• One year of responsible work in clerical or retail settings.
• Substitution of education: college study may substitute for experience.
• Specialized experience in retail sales or similar duties.

Responsibilities

• Responds to Special Order inquiries and assists stores, vendors, distribution teams, and other partners via phone, email, and company systems.
• Creates new items, cuts purchase orders, and provides ETA for Special Orders to stores.
• Maintains documentation for Customer Special Orders; adheres to PII requirements.
• Acts as liaison between store personnel, vendors, and other partners; provides friendly, professional customer service.
• Escalates unresolved customer issues to supervisor and communicates professionally.
• Keeps updated on product promotions and NEX policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with vendors and internal/external colleagues to support the team.
• Works under general supervision and performs duties independently within policies; follows instructions.
