Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to craft and decorate cakes, tarts, and gourmet pastries. You will finish decorated items with precision and ensure adherence to quality standards while delivering friendly, helpful service to customers.

Responsibilities include creating custom designs, maintaining sample and production records, and assisting Apprentices. The role supports a fast-paced bakery environment with a focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or bakery preferred.
• Completion of Bakery Decorator Apprentice training or equivalent.
• 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures and maintain production records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and display products; monitor freshness and rotation in the display case.
• Provide guidance and support for Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer phones promptly and courteously.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment and adhere to safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with signage and pricing accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
