Qualifications

• Cake and pastry decorating with intermediate piping; ability to create decorative flowers.
• Color theory for blending buttercream colors and coordinating palettes.
• Techniques for Swiss/French/German icings and various frostings.
• Follow recipes, directions, and procedures; strong time management.
• Safe knife handling and equipment safety in a busy kitchen.
• Basic math for recipe conversions and adjustments.
• Clear communication and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.
• Meet customer service expectations and maintain professional interactions.
• Strong work ethic in a high-output environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures and maintain records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and display products; monitor freshness and rotation.
• Support Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries promptly.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work and shopping areas and comply with safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accurate signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
