Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items. You'll use artistic skills to finish bakery goods meeting our quality standards and deliver outstanding service to customers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include decorating cakes, building displays, guiding apprentices, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and ensuring proper signage and pricing while supporting store programs and company values.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Completion of Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent.
• Prior experience within a professional bakery or grocery retail preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures; complete production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the display case; monitor freshness and rotate stock.
• Provide guidance and support for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special-order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain clean, safe work area.
