Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to craft and decorate cakes, tarts, and pastries, and to fulfill special orders with care and attention to detail.

You will maintain high quality and presentation, provide customer service, and support the Bakery team with apprentices and colleagues in a fast-paced environment. The role involves a flexible schedule and adherence to food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with intermediate piping.
• Strong color theory for buttercream colors and palettes.
• Ability to use multiple icings and completing recipes accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures and keep production records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and display products while ensuring freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and team members.
• Create custom special-order cake designs based on customer needs.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle calls promptly.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work and shopping areas following safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure accurate signage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
