Job summary

Propel Schools Homestead is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position offers an extended school year with 190 instructional days and 30 PD days, totaling 220 days. Compensation ranges from $50,485 to $101,454, plus relocation and comprehensive benefits.

Eligible candidates will have PA certification in Special Education and experience with the school-age population. Propel supports professional development, wellness, and retirement benefits, plus tuition

Qualifications

Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-12, 9-12 or N-12.
Experience working with the special education school age population preferred.
Strong instructional and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

Design coherent instruction aligned with state standards and best practices.
Develop and update learning resources; participate in professional development.
Create a respectful, supportive classroom culture to promote learning.
Use diverse instructional strategies to engage students (computer-assisted, cooperative learning, student-centered approaches).
Manage student behavior and classroom procedures to ensure safety and learning.
Assess student progress using formal and informal methods to drive instruction.
Coordinate delivery of special education supports per each student’s IEP.
Maintain accurate records and report progress per policies.
Prepare and achieve annual performance expectations with administration.
Communicate with families regularly and respond promptly to inquiries.
Maximize academic access, expectations and learning.
