Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.

Responsibilities

  • Develops IEPs for students with disabilities; updates IEPs using diagnostic information from tests and assessments.
  • Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for specially designed instruction.
  • Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and achieving IEP goals.
  • Employs various teaching methods, accommodations and modifications to meet student needs; adapts materials as needed.
  • Monitors student behavior; maintains classroom discipline; deescalates inappropriate behaviors; teaches behavioral strategies.
  • Evaluates student work and progress; adjusts instruction and coordinates grades.
  • Attends IEP meetings as a collaborative team member.
  • Stays current with trends, research, and best practices via professional development.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
