Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 30 semester hours of college credit.
• Current Educational Aide certification or willingness to obtain TEA certification.
• Interest in working one-on-one with a student with significant needs (medical needs).
• Ability to physically assist students with self-help, mobility, academic and behavioral skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings.
• Support behavior management by modeling and reinforcing positive behaviors.
• Maintain data aligned to IEP goals and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Assist with lesson plans and reinforce learning concepts.
• Support students in self-help and academic skills; provide one-to-one support as needed.
• Provide personal care services for students as needed.
