Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant in Houston, TX for a 10-month assignment. The role reports to the Special Education Manager and offers hourly compensation between $15.63 and $19.43.

The position requires supporting students with significant needs, assisting teachers, and maintaining student data to meet IEP goals and behavior plans. We encourage candidates with a High School Diploma or GED, at least 30 college credits, and current or willing TEA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 30 semester hours of college or post-secondary education credits.
• Current Educational Aide Certification or willingness to obtain TEA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervising students in all instructional settings.
• Support behavior management and reinforce desired behaviors.
• maintain data for IEP goals and behavior plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs and support learning concepts.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Provide one-to-one support for students with significant needs as required.
• Support with transitions and classroom activities; adapt materials as needed.
