Job summary

Hall County Schools is seeking a classroom support aide to assist certified staff and instructions for students in reading, language arts, and math. This role includes supervising non-instructional activities, field trips, and aiding with instructional materials.

The position involves assisting with assessments, record-keeping, and parent communication to promote student learning and inclusion for diverse needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of college coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
• Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning.
• Assist professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
• Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions and keep students on task.
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision.
• Constructs, copies and distributes educational materials as needed.
• Assist teacher with parent contact to foster effective involvement in student education.
• Assist students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion.
