Job summary

New Story Schools in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with autism and emotional/behavioral challenges. You will collaborate with teachers to implement individualized goals and provide direct student assistance.

You will help with academic, behavioral, and daily living skills, implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans, assist with transitions, and collect progress data in a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
