Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to work with teachers, supporting students aged 5–21 with autism and emotional/behavioral challenges. You’ll assist with academic, behavioral, and daily living goals, providing direct support, patience, and encouragement.

You’ll help implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans, record progress data, and maintain a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
