Job summary

Bath Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in classroom and school settings. You will work closely with special education teachers to implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans while promoting student participation and independence.

The role involves direct instructional support, collaboration with the educational team, and routine tasks essential to classroom operations within a school-year calendar schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or 60 credit hours preferred.
• CPR/First Aid and health care plan training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with special and general education teachers to provide instructional support per IEPs.
• Implement accommodations and behavior plans; record student progress data.
• Support student behavior using positive behavior strategies per district policy.
• Assist students with mobility, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Provide personal care as needed ( toileting, feeding, dressing, hygiene).
• Supervise students in classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground and during special activities.
• Participate in IEP meetings and data sharing with the educational team.
