Job summary

New Story Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to assist teachers in achieving students' academic, behavioral, and daily living goals. You will support students directly, using patience and encouragement to help each learner succeed.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs and behavioral plans, assisting with transitions and self-care, and recording progress data in a structured, safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
