Job summary

Portage Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional - ESI (Special Education) at Portage Central Middle School to provide instructional and non-instructional support to students in the least restrictive environment. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or the equivalent.
• 60 college credits or an Associate degree or higher or ETS Paraprofessional test accepted.
• Experience working with children and strong interpersonal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher during lessons by following instructions and supporting learning activities.
• Work with individuals or small groups on follow-up activities and record progress.
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and non-instructional periods; reinforce instructions.
• Support in data collection and reporting for IEPS and conferences.
• Assist with medical needs and behavior management as directed.
