Job summary

Michigan City Area Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist in implementing IEPs for students with disabilities. The role supports teachers across special and general education settings, providing educational, mobility and behavior support as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include maintaining confidentiality, following building procedures, and communicating concerns to the supervising teacher in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 college credit hours or passing Para Pro Exam.
• Experience working with students and positive references preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student and staff confidentiality.
• Support the teacher and related staff to provide services for the student.
• Communicate concerns to the administrator or teacher in a timely and professional manner.
• Attend in-services during a school day.
• Assist with CPI training for Educational Assistant positions; assist with student hygiene for MO positions.
