Michigan City Area Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist teachers with IEP implementation and provide supportive services across special and general education settings.

Work schedule follows the school year with 5.75 hours per day; salary is $13.52 per hour, with MCESP benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 60 college credit hours or Para Pro Exam required.
• Experience with students and a positive influence in their lives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student and staff confidentiality.
• Be part of the total support team for students and staff.
• Support the teacher and related staff in service for the student.
• Develop and maintain a positive work environment.
• Communicate concerns to the administrator or assigned teacher promptly.
• Be punctual and maintain good attendance.
• Attend in-services as scheduled.
• Assist with CPI training for ED positions; assist with student hygiene for MO positions.
