Job summary

COOLSPRING ELEMENTARY SCH in Michigan City, IN is seeking a paraprofessional to assist with implementing Individual Education Programs for students with disabilities during a school-year schedule of 5.75 hours per day.

You will work in collaboration with teachers across special education and general education settings, supporting instructional and related services and maintaining confidentiality throughout daily tasks. Starting dates are to be determined and compensation is $14.82 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 60 college credit hours or passing Para Pro Exam.
• Previous experience working with students and a positive influence in education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student and staff confidentiality.
• Comply with rules and procedures set by Building Principal.
• Be part of the total support team for students and staff.
• Be professional when dealing with students, staff, and parents.
• Support the teacher and related staff in providing service for the student.
• Support the educator/teacher's goals for each student.
• Aid in developing and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Communicate concerns to the administrator or assigned teacher promptly.
• Be on time and maintain good attendance; report to the requested area.
• Attend in-services during a school day when provided.
• Request teacher support when necessary.
• Communicate important information to the teacher concerning the student.
• ED positions require CPI training.
• MO positions require assistance with student hygiene.
