Job summary

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent and passed Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro
• In lieu of assessments, 60 semester or 90 quarter hours PSC approved
• Paraprofessional Educator certificate PSC required

Responsibilities

• Provide support to instructional program in assigned classroom
• Assist in supervision, care and instruction of special needs students
• Assist in implementing IEP plans and attending IEP meetings
• Monitor student behavior during non-classroom time
• Perform record keeping and data collection to support teacher
• Provide instruction under supervision in various activities
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid under guidance
• Escort and manage students during transitions and activities
