Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a Para AUT-Mild-Level III in Special Education to support instructional programs for students with special needs. Responsibilities include assisting in supervising, care, and instruction across regular and special education classrooms, and participating in IEP processes.

The position requires a Georgia PSC paraprofessional certificate or equivalent credentials, HS diploma or GED, and completion of required Praxis/GACE assessments or PSC-approved credits.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required and Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro required (or PSC-approved equivalents).
• 60 sem/90 quarter hours accepted in lieu of assessments per PSC.
• Experience in licensed child care environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general office technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and instructing special needs students in classrooms and other settings.
• Adapt activities and materials to reinforce IEP goals under teacher direction.
• Provide basic health support and administer first aid as instructed by a health pro.
• Support daily living activities and grooming for medically fragile students as needed.
• Confer with teachers regularly to monitor student progress and IEP implementation.
• Document data and assist with record-keeping for student files and attendance.
• Assist with crisis intervention and safety procedures as required.
