Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is seeking a paraprofessional educator to support instructional programs and supervise/supervise special needs students in regular and special education settings. The role includes assisting in implementing IEP plans, monitoring behavior, and attending IEP meetings as needed.

Applicants should have a PSC Paraprofessional certificate or equivalent credentials, plus a high school diploma and required assessments or PSC-approved college hours.

Competenze

• Paraprofessional Educator certificate issued by the Georgia PSC.
• High school diploma or GED with required Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro assessments or college hours PSC approved.
• Experience in a licensed child care environment preferred.

• Adapt classroom activities and materials under supervising teacher to reinforce IEP objectives.
• Administer immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Administer tests, homework and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assist medically fragile or physically disabled students with personal care needs.
• Assist students with disabilities with grooming, community access and daily living activities.
• Confer with teachers to evaluate student progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Implement data collection and behavioral plans under supervision of teachers.
• Monitor students to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
• Perform record keeping and support functions to assist the teacher.
• Provide instruction to groups/individuals to reinforce instructional objectives.
• Respond to emergencies and apply crisis intervention procedures.
• Assist with monitoring duties (hallways, lunchroom, restrooms, bus duty).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED + Praxis/GACE Parapro

60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours PSC approved college
