Job summary

Harford County Public Schools seeks a paraeducator for special education at George D. Lisby Elementary School. You will assist with instruction, support IEP/IFSP goals, and help monitor student behavior while collaborating with teachers and staff.

The role includes data collection, assisting with testing, and personal care needs as required. This is a ten-month position with a variety of benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and an associate of arts degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or 48 college credits with a grade 'C' or higher; or a passing score on a paraprofessional exam.
• ParaPro score of 455 or higher; ParaPathways: Reading/Writing 332+ and Math 334+; Foundations of Classroom Support (517) 220+; Foundations of Classroom Support & Instruction (519) 220+.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students during instruction.
• Assist with data collection, testing, and student assessment.
• Assist with IEP/IFSP implementation for students with special needs.
• Monitor student behavior and apply behavioral strategies and intervention plans.
• Assist with personal care needs and lifting/transferring of students as required.
• Prepare instructional materials and help with school-wide duties.
• Support students via digital platforms when applicable.
