Job summary

Dysart Unified School District is seeking a paraprofessional to assist an Special Education Teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans and supporting students with disabilities in the general education curriculum. This role operates on a 0.875 FTE schedule and requires adherence to confidentiality and district policies.

The position involves assisting with daily living activities, preparing instructional materials, and participating in district professional development.

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning activities/work assignments for individual students.
• Assists the teacher in carrying out activities/work assignments for students across the continuum of services.
• Follows a lesson plan, chart or guide by a Special Education teacher.
• Consults with staff about the needs, questions, problems and progress of the students.
• Maintains confidentiality related to FERPA.
• Assists the teacher with classroom and behavior management.
• Maintains records concerning students whom they support.
• Assists with preparation of instructional materials.
• Attends district professional development.
• Assists students with activities of daily living, including hygiene and toileting/diapering.
• Establishes good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
