Job summary

Dysart Unified School District is seeking a part-time Special Education Assistant to support students with disabilities under the guidance of a Special Education teacher. The role involves assisting with a continuum of services, following lesson plans, and maintaining student records.

Ideal candidates will help implement IEPs, maintain confidentiality, and participate in district professional development. The position is indoor classroom work with FERPA compliance and is 0.875 FTE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree or 60 college credits or approved Dysart exam.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required (IVP FPCC).

Responsibilities

• Participates in planning activities/work assignments for individual students.
• Assists teacher with activities across the continuum of services.
• Follows a lesson plan or guide by a Special Education teacher.
• Consults with staff about student needs and progress.
• Maintains confidentiality per FERPA.
• Assists with classroom and behavior management.
• Maintains records on students supported.
• Prepares instructional materials for lessons.
