Job summary

Dysart Unified School District is seeking a paraprofessional to assist the Special Education Teacher with implementing Individual Education Plans and supporting students with diverse disabilities within the general education curriculum.

You will follow lesson plans and coordinate with teachers to monitor student progress, maintain records, and participate in district PD. The role involves daily student interaction and adherence to FERPA and district policies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
AA degree or 60 college credits or Dysart-approved exam.

Responsibilities

Participates in planning activities/work assignments for individual students.
Assists in carrying out activities/work assignments for students across the continuum of services.
Follows a lesson plan or guide by a Special Education teacher.
Consults with staff about students' needs and progress.
Maintains confidentiality under FERPA.
Assists with classroom and behavior management.
Keeps adequate and legible student records.
Assists in preparing instructional materials.
Attends district professional development.
Participates in Medicaid reimbursement program training and logging.
Assists students with activities of daily living (hygiene/diapering).
Establishes rapport with students, staff, and community.
Maintains high ethical and confidential standards.
Other duties as assigned.
