Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator / Teacher Assistant in Special Education to support students with disabilities across mainstream, resource, and center-based settings. The role involves behavior management, progress monitoring, and assisting with daily living skills and classroom activities.

The position is full-time (184 days) with health benefits for eligible hours, and a start date of 12/07/26. A range of pay scales depends on experience and education, with opportunities for advancement

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; certification within 30 days of start date.
Candidates must have 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree, or have passed ParaEducator or ParaPro exam.
Ability to lift minimum 40 pounds; maintain attendance and supervise students; good communication and recordkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
Manage behavior by redirecting or removing disruptive students.
Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.
