Job summary

Sylvania seeks a paraeducator / teacher assistant to support students with disabilities in mainstream, resource, or center-based settings. The full-time role covers 184 days, 6.5 hours per day, with an ASAP start.

Responsibilities include assisting instruction, behavior management, and progress tracking. Requirements include a HS diploma, credits or degree, and ability to lift 40 pounds. Insurance benefits available for 6+ hour positions.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or equivalent and complete PCA cert within 30 days.
• Must have 60 credits/associate degree or higher, or ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and recordkeeping abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in school building.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manage behavior and redirect disruptive students as needed.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living, and social skills.
• Assist with physical tasks including toileting, feeding, dressing, grooming, and transport as required.
