Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator / Teacher Assistant for Special Education to assist in instruction for students with disabilities across mainstream, resource, and center-based settings. This full-time position requires certification within 30 days and may involve lifting, behavior management, and data recording.

Compensation ranges from hourly $20.85 to $26.15 depending on credentials (AA/60 credits/BA) and K-12 experience, with insurance benefits available for positions of 6+ hours per day.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to work with technology and computers.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics and daily living skills.
• Manage behavior and supervise students, including physical tasks as needed.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, dressing and other personal care tasks within building guidelines.
