Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks an Instructional Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year to support students with IEPs in general and special education settings. You will assist teachers with classroom duties and supervise students during bus rides, meals, and transitions.

The role requires a high school diploma, a willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification, and the ability to work under supervision while protecting confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
• Ability to protect confidentiality of student and family information.
• Experience supporting students with IEPs preferred.
• Willingness to participate in ASD training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with grading, materials prep and accommodations.
• Support students in one-on-one, small group, and whole-group settings as directed.
• Supervise students on buses and during lunch/recess per IEP requirements.
• Provide clerical support and maintain classroom records.
• Follow directions and document student progress as directed by teachers.
