Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks an Instructional Aide to support Grades K-5 students within a collaborative, student-centered environment. You will assist with implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), provide behavioral and instructional support, and work closely with teachers to foster essential skills and confidence in learners.

You will help create a welcoming learning environment, monitor progress, and communicate findings to the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher in education or closely related field preferred.
• Paraprofessional credential preferred or in process.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience supporting children, especially in special education or behavioral health.
• Experience with learning disabilities and autism is advantageous.
• Capable of making quick, calm decisions in emergencies.
• Strong communication with students, parents and staff.
• Knowledge of instructional technology and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to support IEP goals.
• Provide individualized instruction and behavioral support.
• Monitor student progress and communicate results to teachers.
• Apply strategies to improve student understanding and achievement.
• Manage classroom behavior and enforce school policies.
• Mentor students in academic, social and life skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance accurately.
• Contribute to reporting and documentation needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Engage in accreditation activities and school meetings.
