The role requires meeting state qualifications, including a 21+ age minimum and education or testing options. Training and school-based responsibilities are part of the position, with emphasis on student safety and learning support.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older for secondary paraprofessional positions.
• Two years of college credits, or a college degree, or pass the ParaPro Praxis Assessment with a 457+ score, or Idaho testing alternative with 75%+.
• Idaho Paraprofessional Testing Alternative dates are offered year-round; if not met, you will be signed up for the Idaho Paraprofessional Assessment on hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist special education teachers in implementing IEPs and supporting students.
• Prepare lesson materials and adapt presentations for diverse learners.
• Support students with testing, tutoring, and classroom activities; monitor safety and behavior.
• Assist in maintaining classroom records, data input, and documentation.
• Supervise students in the classroom, on field trips, and during related activities.
• Perform duties in a classroom environment with possible exposure to body fluids and risks.
