Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator for Special Education to support instructional activities for students with disabilities in various classroom settings. The role emphasizes behavior support, progress monitoring, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; certification to be completed within 30 days; and college credits or an approved exam (ParaEducator/ParaPro). The position is full-time, term length 184 days, 6.5 hours daily, with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Personal Care Assistant certification must be completed within 30 days of start date.
• 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution, or passing the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings (mainstream, resource, center).
• Manage behavior (redirect, calm, or remove disruptive student).
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.
• Assist with physical needs (toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, transporting in wheelchairs).
