Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an educational assistant to support students with disabilities in an inclusive setting. You will assist with IEP-related services, moderate instruction, and daily classroom activities to help students reach their potential.

The role involves 9-month coverage, 35 hours per week, and collaboration with teachers and staff to implement IEP goals and documentation. CPR/First Aid and background requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of techniques for working with persons with disabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students with disabilities to access education.
• Accompany and assist students throughout the school day per IEP.
• Transcribe materials into Braille as needed.
• Assist with instruction and group activities.
• Perform administrative duties and record-keeping as required.
• Assist with IEP meetings and related paperwork.
