Job summary
The Chicago Public Schools are seeking a Special Education Classroom Assistant to support teachers in elementary and high schools. You will reinforce instruction for students with various disabilities, provide one‑on‑one tutoring, assist with daily living skills, and help manage classroom records under the supervision of a licensed Special Education teacher.

Qualifications
- Good knowledge of the characteristics of students with various disabilities.
- Strong grasp of English grammar and spelling.
- Basic mathematics proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist Special Education teachers in reinforcing learning for students with disabilities.
- Provide one‑on‑one tutoring and personal hygiene support as needed.
- Arrange and adjust tools and equipment for students, including wheelchairs and assistive devices.
- Help teach daily living skills and accompany students on trips and to clinics.
- Take notes for students, correct homework, and maintain behavior records.
- Attend workshops and trainings to update job related skills.
