Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education Classroom Assistant to support students with disabilities across elementary and high schools. Under supervision, you will assist in instructional activities, provide one-on-one tutoring, and help with daily living skills and mobility support.

The role requires a valid paraprofessional license (ISBE) and a strong ability to collaborate with teachers and families to implement IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid TASN paraprofessional license (ISBE).
• 60 semester hours of college credit or completion of paraprofessional exam (Work Keys/Parapro).
• Good knowledge of students with various disabilities; ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in elementary and high schools.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene support as needed.
• Assist in positioning equipment and mobility aids for students.
• Maintain written records of student behavior and progress.
