Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support students with special needs in regular or self-contained classrooms and assist in implementing IEP plans. Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math and read/write routine documents.
• Experience with student records and progress notes preferred.
• Ability to communicate with teachers, parents, and students clearly.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and materials to support participation.
• Assist in evaluating student progress and organizing needs.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as required.
• Support students with personal care needs as needed.
• Attend meetings and communicate student progress to staff.
• Implement behavioral plans and reinforce instructional goals.
• Instruct students in activities to support remediation of goals.
• Maintain materials and student files/records.
• Monitor students for safety in various school environments.
