Job summary

Seattle Public Schools seeks a Special Education Assistant (ISE-203) to support students with special needs in regular or self-contained classrooms. You will assist in implementing IEP goals, monitor behavior, and help prepare instructional materials under the supervision of teachers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and related credentials.
• Must meet PESB paraeducator requirements or equivalent.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and materials to support participation by all students.
• Administer tests, homework, and papers to assist teacher in evaluating progress.
• Provide first aid and medical assistance when needed to ensure student safety.
• Assist students with personal care needs due to medical conditions or physical limitations.
• Attend meetings and communicate with teachers/parents about student progress.
• Implement behavioral plans to support students with behavior disorders and maintain a safe environment.
