Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of instructional procedures and practices and ability to adapt activities to meet student needs.
• Ability to read manuals, write documents, and present information clearly.
• Understanding complex, multi-step written and oral instructions.
• Adherence to safety practices and ability to address safety concerns.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities under teacher direction to provide opportunities for all students to participate.
• Administers materials and assignments to assist in evaluating progress and addressing individual needs.
• Administers first aid and medical assistance as required to provide appropriate care.
• Assists students with personal care needs due to medical conditions or physical limitations.
• Attends meetings and professional development to stay informed on job functions.
• Confers with teachers on progress and implements IEP objectives.
• Interacts with teachers and parents to relay student progress and needs.
• Directs and implements behavioral plans to support students and maintain safety.
• Instructs students in various activities to reinforce instructional objectives and remediation goals.
• Maintains instructional materials and student records for reliable information.
• Monitors students across different school environments to ensure safety and positive learning.
