Job summary

Seattle Public Schools seeks a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support students with special needs in regular or self-contained classrooms. You will assist with instruction, implement IEP objectives, monitor behavior, and liaise with teachers and families.

Role includes adapting activities, administering assignments, providing basic first aid, and maintaining records while collaborating with staff to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Qualifying score on the Education Testing Service paraeducator assessment or an equivalent credential.
• An associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits, or completed paraeducator apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and materials under teacher direction to include all students.
• Assist in evaluating progress and organizing individual needs of students.
• Direct and implement behavioral plans for students with behavior disorders or other conditions.
