Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Assistant/ISE-203 to support in regular or self-contained classrooms. The role includes implementing instructional plans, monitoring behavior, and attending IEP meetings.

The position is assigned to a 1-1 student in the extended resource service pathway, working under teacher direction to adapt activities and ensure participation and safety in the school day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience as a paraeducator or working with special needs students is preferred.
• Ability to follow IEP objectives and report progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist in adapting classroom activities to include all students.
• Assist with administering materials, tests, and assignments.
• Provide first aid and basic medical assistance as needed.
• Support students with personal care needs for daily activities.
• Attend meetings and communicate student progress to staff and families.
• Implement and monitor behavior plans under teacher guidance.
• Instruct students in activities to reinforce instructional objectives.
• Maintain student files/records and track progress.
• Monitor students in various school environments to ensure safety.
