Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking an Instructional Aide for our Special Education team. You will support students in Grades K-12, assisting with IEPs and implementing tailored instruction in classrooms and community settings.

You will collaborate with teachers to provide engaging, individualized instruction, monitor progress, and help students build essential academic, behavioral, and social skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; paraprofessional credential preferred.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• Crisis management training certification preferred.
• Experience with instructional support for children and special education.
• Ability to respond calmly and make quick decisions in emergencies.
• Strong communication and collaboration with teachers and families.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
• Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
• Monitor students during lessons and ensure instructional fidelity.
• Track progress and communicate with teachers on outcomes.
• Manage student behavior with consistency and fair discipline.
• Mentor students in academic, social, community, and life skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; provide actionable recommendations.
• Prepare behavioral reports and daily activity logs.
• Communicate with families, staff and administration about student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Participate in accreditation activities and school meetings.
• Respond to feedback and participate in continual professional growth.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support student success.
