Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students in grades K-5. You will collaborate with teachers, implement individualized instruction and behavioral strategies, and monitor progress to help students reach their goals.

You will document observations, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to school-wide assurance and accreditation activities while supporting a caring, student-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic skills test passed.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• Paraprofessional/paraeducator credential preferred or in process.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training.
• Experience supporting children; preferably in special education or behavioral health.
• Skilled with children with learning disabilities and autism.
• Ability to think clearly in emergencies; independent decision-making.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
• Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
• Monitor and support students during lessons; ensure fidelity.
• Track progress and communicate with teachers on growth areas.
• Manage student behavior with consistency and in line with school policies.
• Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; provide observations.
• Assist with preparing behavioral reports and daily logs.
• Communicate with students, families, and staff about needs and successes.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Participate in accreditation activities and meetings.
• Respond to feedback and engage in professional growth.
