Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs in Buena Park, CA is seeking an Instructional Aide to join our Special Education team. You will support students from Grades K-12, help implement IEPs, and assist with classroom activities to promote learning and growth.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, monitor student progress, and reinforce instructional strategies in both school and community settings. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain CA driver’s license and crisis management certification.
• Paraprofessional credentials preferred; prior instructional support experience a plus.
• Experience with children with learning disabilities or related needs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized support and supervision in classroom and community settings.
• Assist with implementing students' IEPs and tailor instruction to individual goals.
• Monitor behavior, track progress, and communicate findings to teachers.
• Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
• Document behaviors and performance; prepare behavioral reports and logs.
• Collaborate with teachers to create a welcoming, safe learning environment.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to accreditation efforts.
• Assist with transportation and safety as needed.
