Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Instructional Aide to support K-12 students within our Special Education team. You will assist with implementing IEPs, monitor progress, and reinforce instructional strategies under teacher supervision.

The role involves on-site work, collaboration with families, and documentation of student behavior and performance. Strong communication, organization, and crisis management readiness are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• CA driver’s license required or ability to obtain.
• Crisis management training certification required or obtainable.
• Paraprofessional/teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Experience with special education or behavioral health program settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
• Provide individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Monitor student progress and communicate findings to teachers.
• Assist with documentation, behavior reports, and daily logs.
• Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and adhere to policies.
