Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs in California is seeking an Instructional Aide to join our Special Education team and provide meaningful support to students in Grades K-12. Collaborating with classroom teachers, you will implement IEPs, tailor instruction, monitor progress, and help students build academic and social skills in both classroom and community settings.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent with testing completed.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• CA driver’s license required or ability to obtain.
• Ability to obtain crisis management certification per company policy.
• Licensed paraprofessional or teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Experience with instruction and support for children in special education settings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
• Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with teachers regularly.
• Manage behavior and reinforce school policies with consistency.
• Support development of community, vocational, leisure and social skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; provide observations and recommendations.
• Prepare behavioral reports and activity logs as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records at all times.
• Participate in meetings to support educational outcomes.
